Shanghai–Hong Kong–Macau Forum and Inclusive Health Run 2026
From March 29 to 31, seven teachers and students from Shine Skills Centre visited Shanghai to participate in a Special Education Forum and an Inclusive Healthy Run and Carnival. The events were jointly organized by the Federation of Hong Kong-Shanghai Associations, the Shanghai Magnolia Foundation for International Exchange, and the Hong Kong Special Education School Heads Association, with support from relevant government offices and local associations.
Ms. YANG Shun Lai, Director of the Vocational Training for People with Disabilities Office, delivered a speech titled “From Opportunities to Training: New Models in Vocational Training for Persons with Disabilities” at the forum. In-depth exchanges were held with educators from Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macau to explore possible collaboration and ways to advance special education.
In addition, teachers and students from Shine Skills Centres took part in the Healthy Run at the Shanghai Expo Cultural Park. The team completed the 3.5 km course with other young athletes from the three regions, experiencing the warmth and joy that come with exercise. Afterwards, they joined the Inclusive Carnival, which featured a wide range of engaging activities. Everyone enjoyed the events, which not only brought them great joy but also broadened their horizons.
Towards the end of the trip, the organizer arranged for the team to visit famous attractions in Shanghai, deepening their understanding of the city's development and culture.
This visit provided students with opportunities to enrich their learning, broaden their perspectives, and foster personal growth. More importantly, it represented a meaningful step in deepening regional cooperation in special education and advancing youth inclusion.
